Shirley Marie Pugh, the daughter of Milo and Eva (Ostrander) Wheeldon was born December 30, 1923 at Unadilla, Nebraska. She passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at the Griswold Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Griswold, Iowa at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 4 days.

Shirley was raised in Omaha and graduated in 1942 from Benson High School. She was united in marriage to Wade Pugh on March 21, 1942 in Papillion Nebraska. Over the years, Shirley worked for the Blackstone Hotel, Wonder Bread Bakery and helped a caterer. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed her trips to the casino. Shirley also enjoyed all sports and especially loved watching Nebraska Football and Nebraska Women's Volleyball, along with professional tennis. In 2007, Shirley made her home in Elliott, Iowa, and most recently at the Griswold Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wade Pugh and two sisters: Helen Schnittker and Beulah Buettow.

Shirley is survived by sons: Rodney (Nancy) Pugh of Omaha, NE and Gary (Thelma) Pugh of Omaha, NE; daughter, Nelda Capps of Elliott, IA; and sister, Lorene Janda of Whitter, CA; six grandchildren: Wade, Jeannie, Ken, Stacy, Eric and Brian; and 11 great grandchildren; other relatives and the staff and residents of the Griswold Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

Shirley was cremated and no public service will be held.

A private family service will be held later at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Nebraska.
