Steven Edward Connell, the son of Homer Edward and Mildred (Diehl) Connell was born on February 16, 1953, in Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the Red Oak Rehab & Care Center, Red Oak, Iowa, at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 4 days.

Steve was raised in Red Oak and graduated with the Red Oak High School class of 1972. He was married to Jane Core and to this union their son, Jason was born. Steve was a longtime auto body man. He owned and operated body shops in Emerson and Red Oak. He also worked for R. K. Belts. Steve was married to LaDonna Peterson and later, Gretchen Moore. Steve enjoyed a lifetime love of fishing and in his younger years, hunting. He always liked having projects to work on and cut wood for people to use in their fireplaces.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Edward Connell and an infant son, David Edward Connell.

Steve is survived by his son, Jason (Becky) Connell of Red Oak, IA; 4 grandchildren: Ryker and Sydney Connell and Makayla and Teagan Fichter; mother, Mildred "Millie" Connell of Red Oak, IA; sisters: Carmen Link of Red Oak, IA and Susan (Steve) Brown of Henderson, IA; other relatives and friends.
