Susan Lynn Erickson Schenck, the daughter of Norman and Beth Erickson, was born June 10, 1945, in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Accura Healthcare in Stanton, Iowa, at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 17 days.

Susan was raised in Red Oak. She graduated from Red Oak High School and moved to Omaha where she worked for Mutual of Omaha.

On August 30, 1969, Susan was united in marriage to Thomas (Tom) Schenck in Red Oak, and to this union, three children were born.

Susan held a few office positions at several businesses before going to work at Nachurs Alpine Solutions. She also spent many years helping Tom with anything he needed at the meat markets. Susan retired from Nachurs in 2015. She loved her Iowa Hawkeyes, the Christmas season, baking, shopping, reading books and keeping Tom in line. Susan had the sweetest and kindest heart and loved her family and friends dearly.

In 1982, Susan and Tom bought a cabin in Okoboji, IA, where they enjoyed their time at the lake, going to outdoor concerts at Arnold's Park, patronizing restaurants, relaxing on their deck, fishing, boating, and especially, spending time with their children and grandchildren there, making wonderful memories. They loved taking road trips, too. Susan loved watching her grandkids play sports, spoiling them any way she could, and giving them the best memories to cherish during her favorite holiday season, Christmas. She was so proud of each one.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom on February 24, 2025, brothers, Greg and Norman, and sister-in-law, Lorrie.

Susan is survived by her two sons and daughter: Jeff (Lori) Schenck, of Elkhorn, NE; Nick (Amber) Schenck of Adel, IA and Becky (Brent) Jensen of Louisville, NE; brother: Scott Erickson (Gwen), sister: Julie Miller; grandchildren: Cooper, KJ, Landon, Dawson, Koleman, Evelyn, Brock and Blake, brother-in-law, Robert (Tasha) Schenck; and sisters-in-law: Joanie (Dean) Burke and Mary Coulman; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
