Ted Harlan Briggs, the son of Donald and Corliss (Graham) Briggs, was born April 17, 1957, in Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 15 days.
Ted lived his entire life in Red Oak. He was an outstanding ROHS athletic participant in football and wrestling. In 1976, Ted graduated from Red Oak High School. On April 23, 1983, Ted was united in marriage to Diane L. Blackburn in Red Oak. For many years, he worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation as an inspector. Ted's life was filled with joy and attentiveness to his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending time with friends. Ted was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane on January 9, 2022; granddaughter, Maddison Jo Belt; brother, Terry Briggs; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Mary Blackburn.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Jessica Briggs and significant other, Christopher Mattingly of Red Oak, IA; 2 grandchildren: Denver Belt and Regan Mattingly; brother, Tim Briggs of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters: Tracy (Mark) Adams of Stanton, IA and Kris (Larry) Becker of Round Rock, TX; brothers-in-law: Terry (Karen) Blackburn of Lincoln, NE and Rick Blackburn of Red Oak, IA; and sister-in-law, Cheryl (Scott) Marsden of Papillion, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation and Viewing with the family will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak.
Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of Ted's arrangements and serving his family.
