Obituary

Timothy Fay "Tim" Treat, the son of Gary and Betty Blackburn Treat was born April 4, 1964 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 44 years, 9 months and 11 days. In 1974 and at the age of 10, Tim and his family moved to Red Oak after having lived in the communities of Shenandoah, Iowa and Leon, Iowa. He graduated in 1982. Tim was united in marriage to Tammy Blay on July 21, 1984 at the First Christian Church in Red Oak, Iowa. Tim and Tammy were blessed with three children: Tina, Travis and Tasha. Tim worked as a tree trimmer. He loved the outdoors, fishing, boating and tubing with family and friends. Tim loved to have fun, spend time with his family and friends, and make people laugh. He especially treasured his family. Tim was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Velma Treat; and maternal grandparents, Wayne and Mildred Blackburn. Tim is survived by his wife, Tammy Treat of Red Oak, IA; children: Tina Treat and fiancé Jerod Weston, Travis Treat and Tasha Treat all of Red Oak, IA; parents, Gary and Betty Treat of Council Bluffs, IA; brothers: Jeff Treat and Susie Bryant of Tulsa, OK; and Bruce Treat and Connie Colton of Bellevue, NE; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Dolores Blay of Red Oak, IA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John and Debbie Blay of Red Oak, IA; and Kenny and Tracy Blay of Council Bluffs, IA; great-aunt, Louise Simpson of Shenandoah, IA; aunt and uncle, Beverly and Ed Fetzer of New Bern, NC; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends. May God bless his memory and give strength to those who mourn. Visitation with the family present at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home on Monday, January 19 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak Inurnment in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Caryn Pedersen, Officiating Memorials may be directed to the family. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
