Vera Alice Buss, the daughter of John S. and Carrie F. (Oliver) Saville, was born March 6, 1923 at Redding, Iowa. She passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 30 days. Vera was raised in Ringgold County and graduated from Redding High School in 1941. Following graduation, she made her home in Red Oak, Iowa. Vera was united in marriage to Lyle Buss on July 16, 1972 in Red Oak. She worked 22 years for the Red Coach Inn & Restaurant, 3 years as a waitress and 19 years in housekeeping. She retired on September 1, 1992. Vera loved watching birds, growing flowers, taking pictures and babysitting. She was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle on November 21, 2005; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Vera is survived by two daughters: Pat Nelson and husband Lanny of Red Oak, IA; and Marilyn Neligh and husband Butch of Red Oak, IA; 6 grandchildren: Violet, Todd, Robert, Ben, Mary and Lynn; 13 great-grandchildren: Meghan, Kody, Katilyn, Brooklin, Kylie, Kassidy, Steven, Michel, Elizabeth, Nicole, Cailey, Brynne and Kaigen; and a great-great-grandchild, Bibiana; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Rev. Caryn Pedersen, Officiating Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Memorials to the Red Oak Fire & Rescue Association.
