Violet Andersen Martin, 92 of Carson City, Nevada formerly of Red Oak, Iowa

Violet Andersen Martin, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Simion) Bond was born on April 24, 1924 in Radley, Kansas. She passed away on November 20, 2016 in Carson City, Nevada.

Vi was reared in Pikeview, Colorado and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1941 and Seton School of Nursing in l945. On September 18, 1948, Vi was united in marriage to Earl C. Andersen. Following Earl's death in 1995, she married Glen E. Martin of Carson City, Nevada in 2000. Violet was employed by Dr. Harold Bastron for many years and was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Red Oak.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, sister and brother.

Violet is survived by her 5 daughters: Susan (George) Latella, Kathryn (Dirk) Hanson, Karen (Ron Melville) Andersen, Mary (Rod) Getting and Patricia Andersen; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Violet was cremated and a graveside service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa

Family will be present at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 for precession to Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or Arbor Day Foundation.

To coin one of her favorite expressions, "She was a good egg".
