Vivian Larene Sell, the daughter of Clarence E. and Mary L. (Meyer) Davis was born June 1, 1918 in Bennet, Nebraska. She passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Walnut Grove Nursing & Rehab Center, Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 11 days. Vivian was raised in Bennet, Nebraska. She graduated in 1935 from Bennet High School. Vivian attended Cosmetology School in Nebraska City, Nebraska and was proud of becoming a beautician in Nebraska City. On March 1, 1939, Vivian was united in marriage to Russell N. Sell in Glenwood, Iowa. They made their home in Percival, then Randolph, Coin, and Red Oak, before settling on their farm in the Bethesda area, which she lived on for 49 years. Vivian loved the farm, its lifestyle, and being a farmer's wife. Vivian's hobbies included gardening, sewing, embroidering, other handwork and baking. In 2001, Vivian moved to Arkansas to be closer to family. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell on July 26, 1987; a sister, Emma; three brothers: Clyde, Kenneth and Roy; and two great-grandchildren. Vivian is survived by four sons: Jim Sell of Verona, MO; Steven Sell and wife Paula of Eureka Springs, AR; Michael Sell and wife Karen of Bella Vista, AR; Patrick Sell and wife Dorene of Story City, IA; 12 grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Letha Nelsen of Lincoln, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak, IA Burial in East Liberty Cemetery, northwest of Malvern, IA Visitation with the family present will be Wednesday, April 17 from 6-8 pm at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
