William Joseph "Bill" Chapman, the son of Andrew Z. and Donna J. Johnson Chapman was born May 10, 1958 in Red Oak, Iowa. He passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Shenandoah Medical Center, Shenandoah, Iowa, the age of 52 years and 26 days. Bill was raised in Red Oak and attended high school in Griswold, Iowa. After high school Bill lived in Colorado for a short time before moving back to Red Oak. He enjoyed cooking and found that to be his career, cooking for several area restaurants. At different times in Bill's life he also made his home in Malvern and Tabor. In 2006, Bill moved to Essex, Iowa. He enjoyed spending time camping and fishing with family and friends. He loved to draw, especially design homes. Bill adored his grandchildren and enjoyed playing with them. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Michael and Andrew C. Chapman. Bill is survived by two sons: Danny Chapman and Timothy Chapman both of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Alyssa and Talia Chapman; brothers: Warren Chapman and wife Donna of Council Bluffs, IA; Kenneth Chapman of Kansas; James Chapman of Davenport, IA; sisters: Jean Johnson of Red Oak, IA; LuAnn Nease and husband Rick of Red Oak, IA; and Mary Lanning and husband Richard of Marysville, KS; step-mother: Mary Chapman of Red Oak, IA; nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends. Memorial Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
