"Willie" Hellman
April 10, 1972 – November 24, 2025
William Mahlon "Willie" Hellman, the son of Garold and Patricia (Durbin) Hellman, was born April 10, 1972, in Heidelberg, Germany. He passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, the age of 53 years, 7 months, and 14 days, at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center, Red Oak, Iowa, due to complications of ALS.
In his younger years, Willie lived in Wichita and Moline, Kansas, before moving to Bellevue, Nebraska, where he graduated from Bellevue East High School. Willie then moved to Savanah, Georgia, where he worked for Godfather's Pizza. He moved back to Omaha, Nebraska, and dedicated many years to Barnhart Press, and Omaha Doors and Windows. In 2009, Willie and his mother Patricia founded All Star Shirts, an embroidery and screen-printing business. Originally the company was based in Bellevue, Nebraska, but in 2020, they relocated to Red Oak, Iowa. Willie was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners in Omaha, Nebraska. A talented dart thrower, he served as the captain for the U.S. Dart Team in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a year. Willie was also an enthusiastic baseball fan and a devoted supporter of the New York Yankees.
Willie was preceded in death by his father, Garold Hellman; grandparents: Emera and Joan Durbin; uncle, Daniel Durbin; and aunt, Ann Durbin.
Willie is survived by his mother, Patricia Lanford and husband, David of Red Oak, IA; grandmother, Jennifer Lanford; uncles: Charles Durbin, Andrew Lanford, Kevin Lanford, and Ricky Lanford; aunts: Roberta Durbin and Angela Durbin; cousins: Dustin and Casey Durbin, Sawyer Ferguson, and Calista Case; other relatives and friends.
