Obituary

Wynonia Mae "Nonie" Gammell, the daughter of Earl and Doris (Blacketer) Edwards Sr. was born June 19, 1943 at Maryville, Missouri. She passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 3 days. Nonie was raised in the Maryville, Missouri area. She graduated from high school at Burlington Junction, Missouri and worked for various nursing homes in northwest Missouri and southwest Iowa. She moved to Oregon and lived for 5 years, before moving to Falls City, Nebraska, where she lived many years. Nonie moved to Shenandoah and became a bartender working in Shenandoah, Farragut and in Red Oak at the Red Oak Tap. Her customers enjoyed her smile and kindness. Nonie moved to Red Oak in 2009 and on June 17, 2010 was united in marriage to Earl R. Gammell. She loved the Chicago Cubs, watching soap operas and making people laugh. Nonie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Earl "Cliff" Edwards Jr. and Henry "Frank" Edwards. Nonie is survived by husband, Earl Gammell of Red Oak, IA; 5 children: Clifford Ellison of Atlantic, IA, Freida Lawson of Red Oak, IA, Mack Ellison of Stanton, IA, Wendy Van of Red Oak, IA, and Patty Perry of Essex, IA; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brothers: Wayne Edwards, John Edwards, Robert Edwards and Leonard Edwards; sisters: Ethel Roberts and Kathy Snyder; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 25 at 10:30 AM at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Rev. Terry McClain, Officiating A memorial is being established. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
